K: Reflecting back to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, I would comment that the nearly flawless organization of the Summer Olympic Games should convince the IOC members that awarding the Winter Games to the Chinese capital city is a safe choice. It’s evident that Beijing has vast experience in hosting major international events as the 2008 Olympics demonstrated.
ZM: Beijing boasts a number of first-class venues, some of which will also be used for the Winter Games if Beijing wins the bid. The Water Cube aquatics center and the National Indoor Stadium are ideal for hosting the competitions of sports on ice, including figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, and curling.
