Benson Tan, founder of Beijing based Imperial Motorsport Limited, is so passionate about motor racing that he has helped to create a major sporting event that will soon tour several Chinese cities.

The British Motorsport Festival will take place this autumn at the Goldenport circuit in Shunyi. This two day event will not only feature great aspects of motor racing but will showcase some of British fashion that went along with the development of car technology. The mini skirt and the Mini car went together at a time when the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were dominating the UK music scene.

Benson explains how the motorsport event will incorporate audience participation for example in experiencing race training and even driving cars under professional instruction.

The principal cars featured at the event will include the Lotus and the Mini along with other classic marques from the UK stable of great cars such as the Morgan.

Benson emphasizes safety and explains how fast racing by professional drivers on specially created tracks is much safer than having high-performance cars on public roads. Several people involved with race training will come from the UK including Pat Blakeney Chairman of the Association of Racing Drivers Schools in the UK.
