An amazing place to meet an amazing chef – Copper, a former copper wire workshop transformed into a sophisticated, smart events space. Located on Nanfu Hutong east of Jingshan Park, it belongs to nearby TRB (Tempe Restaurant Beijing). Bruce was there to meet Belgian chef and restaurateur Reinout Reniere, owner of Zeno Restaurant in the historic city of Brugge. Reinout was guest chef for a few days recently at TRB presenting ‘The Art of Harvest’ – bringing the native, natural tastes of Belgium to the serious diners of Beijing. Reinout believes in creating fine dining, particularly using a range of quality vegetables – something he easily found in Beijing.

In today’s feature Reinout talks of his own passion for cooking and how his native Belgium is an excellent location for great fresh products from both land and sea. He talks of his early days building experience as a chef and of how he worked several years in an Irish country hotel.
