ZM: It seems that both luge and skeleton are quite similar. What is the most important difference between these two sliding sports?

K: Imagine lying on a simple sled, face-up and feetforward, your head just three inches away from the ice speeding down a frozen mountainside faster than freeway traffic — that is essentially the sport of luge. In skeleton the racer is on the stomach traveling down the track, head first with no steering or braking mechanisms on their sled, but a luge is equipped with a steering mechanism.
